the god of lost things

Have you ever spun yourself into a panic, looking for something important? Easily done, isn't it? Sometimes I'm like a whirlwind through my house, upturning everything, searching everywhere in a sort of cyclone of stress!

Jesus told three stories about people who lost things in Luke 15: a shepherd loses a valuable sheep, a woman loses an expensive coin, and a father loses his relationship with his youngest son.

I think part of the reason Jesus tells us these stories is because he wants us to know that God the Father understands the pain of the lost things, and He wants to rejoice with us when those lost things are found.

So, what's lost in your life? Dreams? Hopes? Relationships?

Perhaps you yourself feel a bit lost and far from God? Maybe today you need to know that your story isn't over: the shepherd finds his sheep, the woman finds her coin, and one day, even the son finds his way home.

What's more, all three stories end with a huge party! That's God's heart - Jesus came to 'seek and save the lost' and whenever he does, there is always a party waiting to happen. Why not ask Him to help you find the lost things? Why not ask Him to find you?
