elephant rope

It’s unpleasant to think of it, but there was a time when animals were poorly treated in circuses. You know the stories, I’m sure.

A sad thing that used to happen was that baby elephants would have their legs tied with rope. They weren’t strong enough to break it. As they grew, those elephants never forgot that rope, and even when they were fully-grown, strong enough to crash through forests and snap tree trunks in two, they were still able to be bound by the same rope as when they were babies.

There are so many things in our lives that hold us back in our thinking, just like elephant rope.

But look at this...

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” - Galatians 5:1

You can be free! Jesus did it, he freed us from the past, now it’s time to break off that old rope and live in freedom.

There might be beliefs you have about yourself that just aren’t true, and might never have been! There might be things people have said. Snap that old elephant rope. Pray about it - ask God to show you who you are and the freedom that He brings you. You can do it.
