Someone wise once said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather; there’s only unsuitable clothing.”
There’s definitely something to be said for dressing well for the season you’re in! It takes preparation, wisdom, good sense, and adaptability.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1
There are spiritual seasons too. You might be in a time of testing or trial; perhaps a time of new-found joy, love, or grief, or waiting? Or maybe you’re transitioning into a new season - a new school or job or family home. How will you prepare? What’s the wisdom for the season you’re in?
Whatever time of life you’re facing today, remind yourself that your Father knows it already and has promised to be with you. Ecclesiastes 3 goes on to say that He makes ‘everything beautiful in its time’ and that He set eternity in your heart. That means that even when the leaves start falling or the sky clouds over, the Holy Spirit in you is as real and as true and as faithful as ever.
As the song puts it: “Though the seasons change, your love remains.”
May He guide your preparation, give you wisdom, enhance your good sense, and inspire your adaptability, whatever you wear, and whatever the weather.
