labels

We’re quick to add labels aren’t we? A person gives up meat - on goes the label. Someone else accidentally says an offensive thing on Twitter - label. Religious? Follow a team or a pop-star or a political idea? Labels for you then. And no changing it!

But labels don’t make a lifestyle. They’re really just assumptions from people who only see snapshots of your life.

The truth is, no-one can really label you unless they made you and they know you. And only one Person made you. So only one Person knows you enough to give you your real label...

“For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place.”
  • Psalm 139:13-15

In this age of labels, it’s okay to break the mould and be exactly who God made you to be! You don’t have to believe what anyone says about you. You don’t have to let the label define you when you know you were made for so much more than a convenient name or category. Today, call out who you really are, speak it over yourself, and get peeling off those labels!
